Sonia Majeed “Changing Horizons”

In the rapidly evolving world of innovation, women are steadily contributing and making their mark in different aspects of society. We have many more positive stories that don’t see the light of day, such as the incredible pool of young talent pushing boundaries in numerous industries
and disciplines. With sheer determination and hard work, there are women who have achieved remarkable successes in different fields that were once considered forbidden for them. Despite a challenging environment, young women are increasingly looking to make a difference; and are successful, too. One such name is Sonia Majeed; a Dubai based singer hailing from Pakistan has already achieved many accolades at a young age than most people do in a lifetime. Majeed is a musician, playback singer, artist, and performer; has won the Best Singer at the House of Lords, Best Singer in Business Community Award, and Best Emerging Female Singer Awards.
She has successfully managed to promote a positive image with her work for all in the world to see. She is an inspiration to all women out there who want to pursue their goals and, in the process, bring about positive change in society.

FWM: You are the first Asian Female Singer who had the privilege and honor to sing the UAE National Anthem. How are you the voice of change?

I am really blessed and Thankful to Almighty for getting this chance. The reason to be chosen or to sing this auspicious Anthem is the love and the dedication for this beautiful country which is my second home actually my first home. UAE is the most successful country in the globe. I believe it is really my honor and I am privileged. The reason behind this is the security of the country, the Leaders and the Rulers Of UAE. And they always provide opportunities for everyone. Security I have lived in the UAE for the last 25 years with my family and I am the live witness as a woman that this is the most secure place on the planet. You can travel at 3 AM alone and you
don’t feel any insecurities. The respect for the women is always first rather you are local or expatriate you are even. This is the first country that has more female ministers and more women empowerment rules. And they
treat men and women the same and they provide free education to all the primary and secondary education. And because of this beautiful country what I am today is because of this country I get more opportunities from this land. The reason behind Singing the auspicious UAE Anthem because what they succeeded and have done in 48 years really impressed me. The land of desert has become the world’s number one country. They built the tallest tower in the world and whatever they have built is one of its unique kind and always the one and the tallest or biggest. I always believe that if you want you can and the proved it. The best part is that being a Muslim country it really is liberal for all they have built the mosques, Temples, Church, and the religious sects and cast they provide all of them the places. Therespect for all the religions casts and creed, there is no difference between men and women. The reason behind Singing an Anthem is not only the one I explained there are many reasons and many many positive things about this beautiful country that you won’t miss. So I am really
blessed, humbled, and honored to sing this. The launching ceremony of the UAE national anthem by the honorable His Highness Shiekh Obaid Al Maktoum & dignitaries I saw everything as an opportunity to further my music. It wasjust to pay tribute to #UAE by singing the National Anthem.
First time in the history of Dubai Three (3) young Asians have come together to pay their respects to the great efforts of the Emirati people and their Humble and Great Leaders who have made a dream of a great country come true with their blood and sweat. Today Dubai is one of the most powerful great and a beautiful countries where people of all races have been living together in Peace & Harmony for years. And now 3 Asians put together creating the national anthem for their National Day on the 2nd
December 2019.

Where the beautiful singer whose voice is like magic who has won the hearts of millions all over the world with her magical voice Sonia Majeed, Singer| Playback Singer | Musician, Global Peace Ambassador; Global Goodwill Ambassador joins hands with the Super talented Music
Composer / Producer and Film director Mr. Guru M Sharma who is the Nephew of Great Music Composer legends Laxmikant Pyarelal ji of Bollywood for the first time for making the Great and Beautiful National Anthem of the Emirates which has been conceptualized by yet another Asiancalled Akshay Kapoor a humble and a great soul who is one of the most sought after line producers in Dubai it’s;s a very beautiful effort that has been put by these 3 lovely people for a country for whom they have great respect and love in their hearts. Ishy Bilady is the national anthem (a song that represents the country) of the seven United Arab Emirates. The tune was written in the year 1971 without words to sing. Then, in the year 1986 Arif Al Sheikh Abdullah Al Hassan Sahab came up with words for the song. The song is dedicated to the UAE. In the song, the people praise their country by stating that the unity of the Emirates has lived and & the United Arab Emirates has lived to be the nation, whose religion is Islam and whose guide is the Quran” the people also vow to forever work hard and sincerely for the country.

“This is a united movement to fight the COVID-19 crisis. Almighty has created mankind The most eminent of beings. Who has always find a solution for any disaster. We should always focus on the positive sides of the problems like we always says” don’t focus on problems focus on solutions.”

FWM: With your Music, you spread the message of Love, Humanity, and Peace across the globe. Tell us about your recent songs.

Allah had made the whole universe for us … the sun, the moon, stars, rain, and flowers … they had never asked our religion, tribe or nationality before showering their beauty on us. Similarly, the artists never ask for all such things… they want people to appreciate their art. The singers are one such artists .. they play music not just with their heart but also with their
souls. Our main motive is to spread the Gift of love & peace in the whole world. Music is the greatest communication in the world. Even if people don’t understand the language that you’re singing in, they still know good music when they hear it. For me Music is the voice of all humanity, of whatever time of place. In its presence we are one.

FWM: Where do you draw inspiration for your music?

My mother is my inspiration, I always heard her singing and since I was young I use to sing in school and college and after that my passion became my career. I always listen to the voice of Sea and it’s waves. I feel so motivated. I always wake up so early so I can hear the voices of birds while they are singing and that gives me so much boost and energy. I always hear the voice of clouds before raining it gives bass in my life I always try to find music in everything. If you feel nature always speaks in music in different ways all you need to do is feel it. And the best part is that God has blessed me with the voice so I can express those feelings with my voice.

FWM: You won the Best Emerging Female Singer Award & Women Empowerment Achievement Award. What is women empowerment?

Yes, Alhumdullillah I had received the best emerging female singer award & women’s empowerment achievement award. It is with the grace of Allah, that people had awarded me such honor. I would like to explain this with a saying that, “To come out of darkness, you need to light a lamp… but the lamp also needs oil to light up the dark.” Or “If you educate a man, you
educate an individual. But if you educate a woman, you educate a nation. When girls are educated, their countries become stronger and more prosperous.” So, my advice to all such parents who are worried about collecting for the dowry of their daughters, they should rather expend more on educating & empowering them. Allah had given some of the other qualities in each one of us. It’s just that, we have to recognize that quality and polish it. By doing so, we can not only enlighten our home but also the whole nation and the whole community. I would like to end by mentioning a quote by non-other than Malala Yusufzai, “I want every girl to know that her voice can change the world.”

FWM: As a Global Goodwill Ambassador, Global Peace Ambassador, and Country Director UAE for World Youth Forum, share a few stories of how you have made an impact globally.

FWM: How has COVID-19 changed your vision?

Although the virus has led to a crisis, it has also provided space and time to
be still, for people to re-think their priorities. The quarantine can be positive in that sense. It allows you to think and recognize the gifts and blessings given to you by the universe. I have been staying and working at home, but in contact with friends all over the world, through social media. We are all experiencing the same condition, the same feelings, and we help each other to feel connected and comforted. It is wonderful to feel and experience this global solidarity. It makes me feel hopeful and appreciative.
COVID-19 might be the agent for change that finally wakes people up. We need to remember how to feel, quit running away, and quit being too busy – it is time for a change. This is a united movement to fight the COVID-19 crisis. Almighty has created mankind The most eminent of beings. Who has always find a solution for any disaster. We should always focus on the positive sides of the problems like we always says” don’t focus on problems focus on solutions”. We are in the digital world and we can get close to our loved ones through so many social media forums this time will pass but the tales of love and care of this time will be memorable as long as
we live.
