Ché Houston, Atlanta’s Macaron Maven: A Decade of Addiction to CEO

Ché Houston is a 21st century CEO, Founder with a Vision to make a difference and make an impact at the local and national level through her unique e-commerce platform featuring her signature boutique, Ché René Macarons & More. Founded at the height of the pandemic of 2020, Ché and her leadership team have experienced a level of growth that are a reflection of their unflinching commitment to exceptional quality, service and leadership.

Ché Houston also known as the Macaron Maven, was born and raised in Atlanta GA. She has been a professional baker and cake designer for over 28 years. At the most profound time in Che’s life someone believed in her and gave her a second chance after she thought all hope was lost. Che’ was given an opportunity with a local bakery as a Bakery manager. She increased their sales and service tremendously. Che’ realized that she could do this for herself and decided to revamp and legitimize her side hustle, creating a heavenly experience with her French Macarons with Southern Finesse. Che’ believes God has allowed her to follow His plan of greatness and hope for her future.

FWM: Has entrepreneurship always been your passion?

As a little girl, I was a creative being with a whimsical imagination always looking for a way to show off my extraordinary creations.

My passion for entrepreneurship intensified in my mid-twenties. I created a theatrical poetry production company, I was a freelance make-up artist, luxury cake designer, an extraordinary poet, and many other artistry roles. I absolutely love gaining knowledge of business, building relationships, and sharing with others what has worked for me on my entrepreneurship journey. The thought of creating and building the life I deserve fuels that burn in my soul to make it happen.

I guess you can say “It runs through my bloodline” I grew up in a family of entrepreneurship. My mother was an interior decorator and owned several businesses, my father owned a successful waterproofing company, along with many family members who were business owners.

I get an exhilarating feeling just talking about my entrepreneurship journey.

FWM: You were given a second chance. Explain

I have been down the road of addiction and my life was in complete shambles for a decade. I was caught in the grip of the horrors of addiction, I encountered some of the most horrific places. I would not wish upon anyone.  I was raised with morals and values, but nothing can defeat the disease of addiction but GOD. After many losses and being unemployable a local grocery store gave me a second chance and hired me as a cake decorator, and I earned a promotion to Bakery Manager. Today I am proud to say that I am a Women owned Business in the culinary profession. My company Che’Rene’ Macarons & more, LLC specialize in French Macaron with Southern Finesse that is successful and growing daily. All of this was possible because I realized my life is worth living.

FWM: Ché René Macarons is on its way to a global brand. What makes your French Macarons with Southern Finesse so desirable?

FWM: How important are partnerships in building your brand?

Building relationships is one of my passions that I mentioned earlier. The conversations in the rooms lead to partnerships. I am whole-heartly engaged in my conversations because it is not about what I am sharing but who I need to listen too. There is always vital information that is needed to build your brand and sustain your partnerships. One thing about partnerships, we all have to have a partner to birth a new beginning.

FWM: Tell us about working with corporations and events.

I love working with corporations because I bring so much personality to the table that it allows others to relax and enjoy the moment. In any corporate environment it is work, meetings, conferences and more meetings. Che’Rene’ Macarons will always be the icing on the cake😊 We are able to take events to the next level and we will forever leave a lasting impression.

FWM: What is your vision for 2023?
