FWM: Who is Dr. Juanita Woodson and what is your superpower?
Not just a survivor, but I’m a Thriver! I am the epitome of a woman determined to live her best life now despite its chaotic twists and turns. As a child diagnosed with ADHD and failing miserably in school, I was labelled with a learning disability and given an IEP. I was told by teachers to settle for working in the fast food industry because that’s as far as I would go. During my first year’s attempt at college, I was raped at gun point and humiliated in front of my peers.
I dropped out for several years. However, with much discipline and perseverance, I went back to college making straight A’s in counseling and earning 3 degrees. My first counseling business brought in over $1.5 million within the first 5 years. I’ve survived four failed marriages, each lasting less than 1 year. With a massive hole in my heart and 4 beautiful daughters, I was determined to never give up on love. I am now married to the man of my dreams celebrating 10 years of total bliss! My superpower is the ability to bounce back in the midst of adversity.
The harder life gets the higher I fly above it! Pain pushes me into promotion and purpose! I believe you have to show up for life. You can’t just sit there and allow life to happen to you, you need to happen to life! I’m also grateful for the extraordinary God given adeptness to vacillate between CEO, wife, mother, grandmother, caretaker of my elderly father and ministry. God has a sense of humor and I’m glad He equips us for all the bumps and bruises that life brings about.
FWM: How can women who want to do what you do gain access and support?
I love to help women discover their own superpower! Every woman has them, but they must fight to bring them to fruition. When the student is ready the teacher appears. I believe that when an individual is truly ready for change, they will do what it takes. Investing in a coach or counselor may be the most important component to change you’ll ever experience. Impact Development Foundation is one of my companies that provide counseling, coaching and training. It’s designed for individuals or groups that want to learn or be coached to overcome obstacles that block focus, creativity, relationships, and financial capacity.
Sometimes you need someone equipped with both experience and expertise from the outside to help you understand the problem(s) you face on the inside. There’s usually a level of hurt, hidden pain, or unresolved issues hiding inside the person. It’s important not to focus only on the symptoms of behavior, but rather to ultimately destroy the secret root problem. This way the person won’t revert later on to the unwanted behavior but will maintain the desired outcome.

FWM: You’re a serious BOSS! Tell us, what are you working on and what’s next for you?
We are going to roll out individual training courses that can be purchased on several topics right from the website. We understand that not everyone can sit in a scheduled class at a particular time. It will be a learn as you go process. You will be able to take a course on breaking soul-ties, how to prepare for marriage, how to overcome fear and anxiety, how to use your gift to get rich, how to overcome pain from the past and many more. We will also provide certifications in several new topics including anger management and small business development. Our team plans to hire more counselors and coaches as the need for them has expanded.
Women On Fire Ministries is excited to continue the Women On Fire Retreats as soon as we a get a health clearance concerning the pandemic. My personal Inner Circle coaching group will be adding new features and new components to the program!
