FWM: We’re so happy to catch up with you! Please introduce yourself to our audience.

TCH: I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to share with the readers of Formidable Woman Magazine. I’m Tina C. Hines, a Life Transformation Specialist, and at heart, a daughter, mother, and sister-friend. What makes my journey unique is being a 5th generation intuitive clairvoyant, medium, empath, and healer. That always seems to surprise a lot of people.

What challenges do you face when it comes to embracing the healing work needed for authentic happiness and joy?

Tina C. Hines

My professional journey spans over 30 years in corporate America, supporting c-suite executives. I like to say that is where I was groomed in preparation for the next phase of my life. This led me to taking a bold step into entrepreneurship which marked a turning point for me and created space to lean into my purpose. Outside of my transformative work, I’m a passionate explorer, indulging my love for international travel and immersing myself in the beauty of different cultures.

FWM: What circumstances led you to Spiritual Transformation Coaching?

TCH: Coaching wasn’t initially on my radar; I found satisfaction as an executive assistant. Little did I know, my corporate experiences were preparing me for the profound work I now undertake with clients. The turning point emerged from my own transformation. While caring for my son, mother, and boss, I neglected self-care, this led to clinical depression. Simultaneously, a spiritual awakening brought about discomfort, and I found myself merely existing instead of truly living. That was not a good feeling and when you are in this uncomfortable space it is challenging to know exactly how to come out of it.

Despite having an amazing support system of friends, a sense of loneliness persisted. This prompted me to seek therapy, initiate a meditation practice, and embrace transformative tools. All were best decisions I could have made for my own well-being. As I began to heal, a thought came to mind, I know I am not the only woman silently grappling with her emotional well-being and that challenges that life seems to throw at us. It was during a podcast featuring Deepak Chopra that this question, “Who am I?” sparked profound self-examination. Among the various answers, one entry in my journal resonated deeply: “I am a coach or guide who helps women.” This revelation wasn’t just an ‘ah-ha’ moment; it was a pivotal realization that propelled me to pursue certification as a Life Transformation Specialist. This journey is not just a profession; it’s a calling born out of personal metamorphosis.

FWM: How did you decide to move to another country? What are your takeaways or advice for a woman thinking of doing the same?

TCH: Travel has been a consistent source of joy for me since seeing the turquoise waters of Nassau, Bahamas, at the age of 23. That experience sparked a commitment to myself – an annual promise to explore the world outside the USA. Unfortunately, the pandemic interrupted what would have been a personal record of unwavering commitment to this travel tradition.

Moving to Morocco was a monumental decision, and the universe seemed determined to throw every challenge my way.

The desire to live beyond the borders of the USA was always present, although the destination remained uncertain. Initially drawn to Anguilla, BWI, a safe haven on my healing journey, my travels unfolded, revealing numerous destinations that spoke to my soul. Each journey added layers to my understanding of where I could call home outside my native country.

My journey to Morocco was serendipitous. Engaged in a conversation with a friend who was passionately building a Black-centered global community focused on healing and empowerment, I found myself drawn to her vision. She extended an invitation to join her in birthing this transformative dream. At that moment, I was in a space of unfulfillment in the States, and there was nothing anchoring me there. In a bold move, I packed my life into storage, took two large suitcases, and embarked on a life-changing journey to Morocco with my son.

To women contemplating living abroad, my advice echoes a resounding “DO IT.” The surprises awaiting you, not just in your chosen destination but within yourself, are boundless. The experience of immersing yourself in a new culture unveils layers of self-discovery and growth. Crucially, seek or create a supportive community of like-minded individuals and resources. Living abroad is not just a change in location; it’s an exploration that transcends boundaries. Embrace opportunities that may initially push you out of your comfort zone, for it’s often in those moments that we discover our most powerful selves. The world is waiting to unfold its wonders to those who dare to explore it.

FWM: What has been your greatest challenge in your journey or in your industry? Why?

TCH: Undoubtedly, the greatest challenge I’ve encountered in my journey is connecting with women who struggle to recognize their worthiness of healing. Many of my clients, predominantly black women over 30, carry the weight of exhaustion. They’re weary of feeling unworthy, fearful, and stuck in cycles of giving without receiving. The desire for change, or as I prefer to call it, growth, is palpable. However, the resistance to step outside of their comfort zones often proves to be a significant hurdle.

One recurring theme is a reluctance to see the value in seeking guidance for their healing journey. There’s a tendency to try to navigate the path alone, leading to results falling short of their aspirations. Consuming self-help resources, whether books, YouTube videos, or classes, is a commendable start, but the key lies in the application of these insights.

For the readers, here’s a thought-provoking question: What challenges do you face when it comes to embracing the healing work needed for authentic happiness and joy? Feel free to reflect on your own journey and share your insights.

People involved in her evolution

FWM: Who else has helped you evolve into the person you are today?

TCH: In the mosaic of people who’ve shaped the woman I am today, pinpointing a single individual is challenging. Yet, the most pivotal figure is undoubtedly my son, the most important man in my life. As a single young mom, the necessity to grow up quickly to provide for him shaped my early years of motherhood.

One invaluable lesson he taught me stands out—the art of letting go. There was a day when, after a long workday, I returned home to find one of his chores untouched. I launched into an explanation of responsibility, leaving the room momentarily. Upon my return, I continued discussing the situation. In response, my son posed a simple question that echoed in my thoughts, “Are we still talking about this?” In his matter-of-fact perspective, he had moved on, and it struck me deeply. I realized I was choosing to hold onto something temporary, letting it disrupt my peace.

Living with Asperger’s Syndrome, his personality is straightforward. Once a situation is behind him, he doesn’t dwell on it. Now, when I catch myself replaying situations in my head and causing me angst, I hear his voice asking, “Are we still talking about this?” It’s a powerful reminder to release the grip on things that no longer serve me and embrace the freedom of the present.

FWM:  Can you share a time when forces were working against you? How did you overcome the challenge?

TCH: Moving to Morocco was a monumental decision, and the universe seemed determined to throw every challenge my way. As I attempted to pack up my life, the support I anticipated crumbled. Promised help disappeared at the last minute, and there I found myself, surrounded by boxes and emotions, sitting on the floor of my living room, shedding tears of frustration.

In the midst of this chaos, my friend Ursula emerged as a beacon of support, offering not just a helping hand but a steadying voice of reason. However, the challenges persisted. The person I had hired beforehand to assist underestimated the task and left, triggering a wave of negative emotions. In a moment of desperation, I reached out to rent a moving truck, and through customer service, I obtained a list of companies to contact.

After a morning of confusion and setbacks, I finally secured someone willing to help immediately. The day that started with frustration and tears concluded with everything safely placed in storage. This experience taught me resilience, the power of reaching out for help, and the importance of having a supportive friend by my side during challenging times. It’s a testament to the strength found in perseverance and the bonds that help us weather life’s storms.

About her expertise

FWM: What sets you apart and makes you/your gift truly special?

TCH: What sets me apart and makes my gift truly special is deeply rooted in my familial lineage. I proudly carry the legacy of being a 5th generation intuitive clairvoyant, medium, empath, and healer. Unlike formal training, my gifts are a precious inheritance passed down through generations, my mother along with each of my grandmothers contributing a unique thread to the tapestry of my abilities.

These inherited gifts grant me the ability to delve into uncomfortable situations and unearth their root causes, a skill integral to initiating the healing process. This is the essence of why I identify as a life transformation specialist rather than a conventional life coach. My mission is to guide women through transformative journeys, helping them discover and navigate their unique paths to healing. Sometimes, the destination is unclear until we embark on this journey together. It’s this authentic connection to my gifts and the legacy they carry that makes the support I offer truly distinctive.

FWM: How can others work with you?

TCH: There are several empowering ways for women to work with me and begin their transformative journeys. The first option is through private transformation coaching, a personalized experience spanning 3-6 months. Together, we delve into topics such as self-defeating behaviors, abandonment, self-love, and emotional healing, crafting a tailored path towards positive transformation.

For those seeking a more immersive experience, my weeklong international healing retreats offer a sanctuary to escape daily responsibilities and focus on holistic healing of the mind, body, and spirit. These rejuvenating retreats unfold in the serene landscapes of Anguilla, Bali, or Morocco, providing a transformative space for self-discovery.

Additionally, my website hosts valuable resources, enabling women to initiate their healing journey from the comfort of their homes. Whether through private coaching, international retreats, or accessible online resources, I’m dedicated to providing diverse avenues for women to step into their power and embrace transformative growth.
