Lessons from Top Direct Sales Leader Pasha Carter

For two decades, my husband and I have used our direct sales and network marketing platform to engage with women who may not have a vast amount of money to start a business.”

FWM: Introduce yourself and your business:

I’m Pasha Carter. I, along with my amazing husband co-own The VIP Network. Our company encompasses several different ventures. We have a speaking and coaching business, are both top leaders in direct sales, and will soon launch a children’s entrepreneurial program.

FWM: Why did you start The VIP Network?

Well, I started a business when I was twenty-three years old. I was working two jobs but could barely make ends meet. I literally slept on the floor of my best friend’s apartment. I didn’t have any money, but I had a lot of dreams. After being invited to a sales meeting in Atlanta, I was first introduced to the idea of entrepreneurship. I was captivated by a twenty-six year old gentleman who earned more in one month than I did all year working two jobs! He opened my mind to the possibilities of passive income, and I decided then that I didn’t want to punch a clock anymore.

FWM: Describe your journey to success.

Imagine the biggest roller coaster at your favorite amusement park. That’s the true journey of an entrepreneur. If you want to become a business owner, you have to ask yourself, are you ready to ride? I knew there would be ups and downs in my journey. Has the road been easy? Absolutely not. But I don’t regret the down times because they showed me who I am.

“I’m so passionate about working with women because I know their struggles. I know what it’s like to walk into a room with mostly men and wonder, ‘do I belong here?'”

All kinds of things will happen in business: customers will leave you, you’ll run out of money and ideas, or your products will no longer be relevant. The question is, who will you become?

The toughest part about being an entrepreneur is facing yourself.  So, in those moments, I had to ask myself, will I quit or keep going? It was then that I had to make a U-turn. I made a decision to turn my company in the opposite direction and I learned so much about myself along the way. Because I was willing to push through the bumpy seasons, I’ve been able to clear a path for other people to come behind me.

FWM: What is your super power?

As it relates to business, my super power is bringing people together. I am a master connector. Every time I meet someone, my first inclination is, how can I serve? How can I help connect them to someone else? I’m consistently connecting people; that’s how I live my life! And it’s also why I created The VIP Network. My husband and I wanted to develop a network of business owners who can come together to service each other’s needs.
