FWM: When did you find your calling for hair and makeup as a career?

I always had this inner knowing that I wanted to be a Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist however, I didn’t realize it was something I wanted to fulfill as a career until I got thrown into New York Fashion Week. One day I was in Macy’s shopping and this woman complimented me on my makeup. At the time, I wasn’t even into my career as a MUA. We started talking and she mentioned she was participating in NYFW. I gave her my number not expecting her to call, but she did. I ended up getting an opportunity to provide makeup for the models in the fashion show and really decided at that moment that this is the profession I wanted to start my career in.

FWM: Tell us about the challenges you faced when starting out.

I faced a few challenges when I first began. The beauty industry is extremely competitive, and I had to get out of my own head at first and find what set me apart from other hairstylists, MUA’s, and beauty brands. My initial goal had to be creating quality work that I loved and then from there I grew and continued to get better opportunities.

FWM: You are the CEO of GlamLife Beauty Collection. What trends are you seeing?

A good bronzer is always in. They never seem to fade away. 2022 is seeing a trend in peachy tones for lip color. I am also seeing a focus on the skin looking more natural and higher end glam as opposed to caked on glam.

FWM: What does your typical day look like?

My day can change from day to day. I am CEO + Founder of Women Warriors Collab, a group that is dedicated to empowering female entrepreneurs, and I set morning mindset calls with them. I also work with Local and National TV Segments and can be working on hair and makeup for a host of a show. In between that, I will be attending weddings for bridal glam or potentially working on a client for hair extensions.

FWM: Tell us about what GlamLife Beauty Collection offers.

GlamLife is a brand that is dedicated to empowering women, making them feel good, and offers a wide range of products from makeup to accessories to help make you live your best Glam Life.

FWM: You have worked with many celebrities. Who have you enjoyed the most?

Vanessa Williams was an amazing experience. I had always looked up to her and she was just such a beautiful person inside and out. I remember leaving that shoot crying because it was just such an amazing moment in my career. I also really enjoyed working with Taryn Manning. She was very humble and let me have creative control over the look for her hair. Taryn is such a successful actress, and she is featured on red carpets and trusted me with her look. Those two experiences really were pivotal moments in my career so far.

FWM: Tell us about the Women Warriors Collab.

Women Warriors Collab is a group of businesswomen who help to motivate, inspire, uplift, teach, and help one another through each level of their entrepreneurial journeys. We host meetings monthly to bring the group together as a collective and help to motivate, encourage, and teach one another different areas in business to help elevate each individual and brand. We also work together to give back and donate to charities, host events, and work to empower and grow their network.

FWM: What’s next for you?

I will be working on more Women Warrior Collab Events. We are currently working on a few cities to reach outside of New York and New Jersey where I am located. I am also working on getting more TV segments to feature my expertise as a stylist and MUA, as well as feature GlamLife Beauty Collection. You will be seeing Jenn Michelle and GlamLife Beauty in national platforms as well.
