FWM: As a Business Strategist, what are key challenges today?

The biggest challenge in the entrepreneurial space today is that the online market is flooded with individuals giving poor business advice because they lack any authentic business experience. This challenge creates an enormous amount of entrepreneurs who are disillusioned and willing to give up because the “get rich quick” strategies they were taught aren’t working. So, having to rework the market’s mindset and shift entrepreneur’s thinking from a get rich quick mentality to a mentality of building wealth over time using correct business practices and principles, will be paramount going forward.

FWM: You are an authority for entrepreneurs and business leaders. Share your best advice for business recovery during this pandemic.

I think the one thing 2020 has done is to force all business owners to take a look at how they are operating. If you started your business in the last ten years, you’ve only known life in a thriving economy. So, as things shift, we must return to best practices and principles that will create a business that can self-sustain in any economic climate. That comes down to really well-designed systems for sales and marketing. It also has a lot to do with making sure each position in the company is appropriately monetized. Every team member should be adding more to the bottom line than the salary they are being paid. Depending on the company and roles inside the company, this will look different, but getting everyone to a certain level of profitability is critical. And of course, making smart financial moves is vital. You need to make sure that your ratios for expenses and debt are in alignment with revenue, even when income is down. As the CEO of your company, you want to make sure that the company has enough cash liquidity to sustain itself through the ups and downs of the global business environment.

FWM: What do you enjoy most about being a business strategist?

Seeing people’s lives transform completely, their confidence goes through the roof, and their levels of happiness and fulfillment being higher than they ever believed possible. I love seeing my clients go from struggle and strain to being completely cash comfortable with systems and strategies that work, a team that wins, and a business they love.

FWM: How have you pivoted during this time?

Because my company was already operating virtually, selling an online service that truly is a need in our market, we didn’t have to pivot too much. We did shift some of our messaging right when the pandemic hit, and have been more intentional about reaching brick and mortar businesses who now need to get creative when it comes to how they operate. I immediately doubled down on the support we were giving clients inside of our paid coaching programs and did an entire month-long training series on how to pivot to profit in an economic downturn. We did a lot of mindset training internally with my team and with our clients, to help prepare them to come out on top. We’ve instituted blackout hours where everyone is focused on money-generating activities, and have hired a team trainer to make sure everyone has access to exercise and movement throughout the day to keep them performing optimally. For the most part, we’ve been able to continue doing what we had been doing thanks to the Live Launch Method I created to sell our main offer. The consistency in sales that provided was tremendous. We had multiple 7-figure launches over the last six months, despite the pandemic and have helped our clients do the same.

FWM: You are the co-founder of The Courageous Brand, why is this so important to you?

My best friend and I have both had lots of success in our careers. However, most of the things that have made us successful are not taught in schools. When we started looking for tools to use with our daughters, designed to help them develop courage and confidence, we couldn’t find anything, so we created it. I think it’s crucial, as a successful woman, that I do my part to pass on all that I have learned to the next generation of women who will ultimately lead our world in the future. I want not only my daughter, but young girls around the globe, to have the courage, confidence, and skills required to step up as leaders today, so they can break through every barrier and obstacle that stands in the way of their success, and truly change the world. Amy shared that vision, so we created The Courageous Brand.

FWM: Share your vision for 2020.

To empower this generation, and the next, to create their own economy, design, and destiny while equipping them with the confidence, tools, and strategies to make it happen. For my coaching company, the vision is simplifying the path to financial freedom for more entrepreneurs across the globe, adding several hundred more CEOs to our community. The Courageous Brand that is building our team, and enrolling more young girls in our Courage Academy Leadership certification program so we can spread more courage and confidence to young girls everywhere.
