FWM: You were quoted as saying, “Your trials will only make you stronger and prepare you for your journey to come.” Share your story.

My trials have been to fight for good health and wellness myself. Watching my mom, grandmom, best friend, and director all die of Cancer from 2017-2018. Another trial for me was to be the best single mom to two grieving children as possible. I have had to be a rock for my entire family, while I was hurting. I have treated some people with the utmost loyalty and in return. I got played several times throughout my relationships. I’m not sure if it was because of my low standards.

FWM: Tell us about Restoring Bodies And Minds LLC.

My organization is a mental health facility. We work with adults that suffer from severe and or persistent Mental illness. Over the last 10 years, I have dedicated my life to helping others. Life for me as a businesswoman has not been easy. The one strength that I have always taught my members was journaling. Through journaling there is healing.

FWM: What are a few secrets about a Mental Health Counselor?

One is we are not perfect. We have our own issues that we deal with on a daily basis. Sometimes people get it confused like we have superpowers. Another secret is that we have good problem-solving skills. That is why we have been good at help others figure things out.

FWM: Your love of helping people drove you to write a best-selling book, A Fat Girl’s Confidence Guide published by My Story Publishing Company. Tell us about your book.

I published my second nonfiction book “A Fat Girl’s Confidence”. I’m fat so what? this book was completely about women that have struggled with self-esteem and confidence issues. I wrote this book because I struggled with weight my entire life. This book was a motivational guide to accept who you are and love it. As a woman, when I look at tv and online I feel pressure to look away. There are millions of women daily that go through the same thing.

We look at the media and feel pressure to change who we are. I wanted to set up and say to all women to love you. It does not matter if you are fat, skinny, tall or short.

FWM: Share a few passages of strength for others.

God is my strength through it all.

What is your mission for your book?

I have written a total of 7 books both nonfiction and fiction. My non-fiction writings were published as motivational works to inspire women. One thing I will not do is give you a tip or insight about something I am unfamiliar with. My books are different from others because I have written from experience. It is best to connect with someone that has been there and improved. My books are from a genuine place to motivate you and have fun. As a woman, we all fight different battles each day. My writings are from my heart.
