Andrea Ward- Fashion Designer and Creator of Styles By WTB

FWM: Share your upbringing.

I grew up in Baltimore Maryland as a child, raised by a single mother with my twin brother. My upbringing was very difficult for me because I had many responsibilities as a child. I had work at age 12 to help provide or support for my mother and brother while my mother worked at her job while she was sickly with a medical condition. My upbringing inspired me to work harder to create endless possibilities & opportunities for myself as a Fashion Designer & Stylist.

FWM: You are the creator of Styles By WTB. Share your journey.

Yes, I am the creator of Styles By WTB. About 6 years ago, I was a homeless young woman with a newborn infant just leaving a very abusive relationship. At that time I discovered my passion for design & fashion from learning how to sew from YouTube. After 2 weeks of learning how to design clothing and I received a phone call from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week to showcase my first collection as a Designer for my first fashion show. Since then I’ve accomplished so much to be the perfect example for young women to be inspired by or look up to.
