Is There a Doctor in The House? Meet “Dr. Mom” Delene Musielak

Dr. Delene Musielak of the Dr. Mom Show is a full-time physician and super mom of triplets

From a very young age, she told her parents that she wanted to be a doctor. That is the exact road she pursued. After obtaining her medical degree, she not only went on to train in one speciality, but two. Dr. Delene Musielak is dual-boarded in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She cares for the whole gamut. Or, as she says, “From the cradle to the grave.” Dr. Musielak has not only made her mark in her local community, but is also involved on a national level in making changes that impact medical care.

Dr. Musielak does not stop there though. She has persevered and continues to challenge herself to be a leader and the best at everything she does. Dr. Musielak is not only a full-time physician, but a super mom of triplets, a wife of an amazing surgeon, an author, motivational and wellness speaker and an entrepreneur. She has even started her own show, The Dr. Mom Show, to serve as a medical informational resource. When talking to this amazing Super Mom, you feel like you can do absolutely anything! Let’s learn a little bit more about this phenomenon of a woman!

FWM: Tell is, how many businesses do you have? And what are they?

Two. My own show, The Dr. Mom Show. Authoring books. Recent publication of my first devotional, M.O.M. – Meditate. Overcome. Motivate. I am in the process of publishing my first children’s book.

FWM:  What made you want to become an Entrepreneur?

My parents have always raised me to do my best and to continue to grow. Whether it is cleaning or being a doctor, my goal is to do my best job. In addition, I’m so tired of people dictating what I do. I have stood fast and sacrificed to be where I am today and it’s only with God’s strength and grace that I have made it this far. With that being said, I want my independence from the workforce.

FWM: What has been your greatest challenge as a Entrepreneur?

Being a woman and a minority. I feel it’s more difficult for people to take me seriously.  It’s ironic how it never fails that my husband always gets called Dr. Musielak and somehow I become Delene. I have also learned that other women having difficulties seeing other women succeed, instead of supporting them.

FWM: Tell us something no one knows you like?? (Something funny and exciting)

I really enjoy rapping. When I was younger, I started to write Christian rap songs. After starting medical school, I didn’t have enough time to pursue it just because I was so busy studying. Each year after that, something else came up. Residency training, boards, family, the triplets, etc. However, one day, I would love to do it again and maybe have my own album.

FWM: What would the Delene of today tell the 21 year old Delene?

When you’re in medical school, find out which specialty has the least demanding schedule and call so that work/life balance could be better. Learn a little more about the business aspect of medicine.

FWM:  What direction do you feel that we as women in business can do to continue to trailblaze for the next generation of women in business?

Be mentors. Encourage and lift other females up instead of competing.

FWM:  What exciting project are you working on?

I have a couple. My Dr. Mom Show was recently added to Roku on STGN and is getting ready to premiere on April 22nd. I am very excited about that. In addition, I am currently in the process of publishing my first children’s book! That should be coming in July/August 2019. Later this year, I am hoping to publish a Mommy & Me Devotional.

FWM: What final words do you want to share?

Never give up! If you have something or multiple things you want to accomplish, do it! Don’t let doubt win, because you never know what successes you can have unless you try.
